Courthouse centennial celebration continues with guided tours.

Special guided tours were given Thursday during the celebration of the courthouse centennial.

And hundreds made the trip to see the historic structure.

Centennial board members say it’s been the perfect opportunity to appreciate the building.

"It’s phenomenal. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places, which is great, but it’s also a National Historic Landmark. That puts it up there with the White House, the Washington Monument, things like that. It’s very, very important; one-of-a-kind." said Jim Jung, Centennial Committee Co-Chair.

"You’ll see the kids look up at the top of the stained glass dome and almost get dizzy because you see their excitement. Their eyes are wide open and they’re just taking in the sites. We have adults that do the same thing." said Rocky De Witt, Board of Supervisors Chair.

The committee adds that all of that passion validates the months of planning and hard work they’ve put in.
